geneology for Metcalf

My Mother is looking for information on her grandmother, Annetta Estella (possible reversed) Metcalf born March 31, early 1860s. Here is an interesting story. She was raise by the Jones family until the father died. It was then that the mother informed her that she was not their child. She told her that her uncle, a surgeon, had brought her to them. She is supposed to be half Cherokee. Apparently, her parents were dead. After the death of her foster father she was placed in a catholic convent or orphanage. She lived there until she married a David Mead. She led an adventurous life. If you are interested in hearing more let me know.
